The first book I recommend is Influence – The Psychology of Persuasion by Robert Cialdini. Caildini is a PhD and holds appointments at Arizona State University. This book deals with what makes people say ‘Yes’. It looks, with some really quite startling examples, at what makes the mind work and how we operate on a kind of autopilot for most of the time. Knowing how to influence that autopilot is the key to ‘persuasion’

I use names.co.uk Excellent service, easy to use control panel, you can, if you want, host your website with them and even use their Sitemaker tool to create your website (although I don’t because I prefer to use WordPress)

Once you have your website you will need to get traffic to it. Choosing the right keywords is important for both SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) and PPC (Pay Per Click)

Are you going to use your website to capture leads? If so you will want a form on your website that captures peoples details in return for some kind of offer. Personally I like to use an auto responder and e mail marketing service to make all of the automatic, plus you can get some great looking forms to add to your website.
